Teaching Dyslexic & Struggling Readers
Our reading approach is based on clinically proven strategies that progress step-by-step using direct instruction, multi-sensory experience, symbol imagery. We build knowledge of sound spelling relationships which augments decoding skills and leads to reading accuracy and fluency.
Growth & Advancement
The writing process is taught through specific steps and strategies to help the writer become adept in this procedure, from topic choosing to drafting to using assistive devices to enhance the writing process.
Shoring Up & Expanding Skills
We teach concepts as well as computation to the math student through practical understanding rather than memorization. Albert Einstein said, “If I can’t picture it, I can’t understand it.” We help the students visualize the math process.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I began to volunteer at the first public school to reopen in New Orleans. It was there that I was initially trained in an Orton-Gillingham based special reading program, Project Read. I immediately became devoted to teaching struggling readers to become more successful. Since then I have received over 100 hours of extensive training in other reading intervention programs including: Lindamood Bell LiPs and Seeing Stars programs; Wilson Reading System, Really Great Reading, and Orton-Gillingham. I am devoted to helping every child with whom I work become a better reader, a better writer, a better speller.
